Ruth has enjoyed an illustrious career performing extensively with the Royal Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, Philharmonia, London Symphony and BBC Symphony Orchestras, along with the English Chamber Orchestra and London Mozart Players. Regional orchestral work has included Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Bournemouth Sinfonietta, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Welsh Opera and Birmingham Royal Ballet, a post she held before moving to the West Country. Ruth’s busy solo schedule has featured recitals all over the UK and abroad, notably concerts at the Purcell Room, Wigmore Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall in London. She has performed concerti with orchestras such as the Bournemouth Sinfonietta and English Chamber Orchestra and has appeared as a soloist in the Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room, London. Ruth has also featured as a soloist on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio 4 and BBC television.

Ruth started the harp as a Junior at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and later studied with Tina Bonifacio, who sparked Ruth’s passion for the French harp technique. She continued her studies at the Royal College of Music under the tutelage of the renowned Marisa Robles, followed by lessons in Paris with Gerard Devos.

Until 2022 Ruth ran residential summer courses for young harpists, attracting players from around the world. She has also been a guest tutor on the Ibacus International Harp Course.

Ruth is currently Vice-President of the United Kingdom Harp Association.
